History of Art Graduate Degrees
Apply to the Combined M.A./Ph.D. Program
The department and affiliated faculty offer a wide range of courses focusing on art and visual culture from prehistory to the present in Europe, the U.S., East Asia, and Africa, both within national traditions and transnationally. Students may pursue graduate degrees in European and American Art/Global Modern and Contemporary Art or East Asian Art.
The Combined M.A./Ph.D. is a streamlined degree track intended for students who want to pursue the Ph.D. in art history at KU, but who do not yet hold the M.A. degree in art history.
Please see the History of Art Graduate Student Handbook for more information regarding the M.A./Ph.D. program's degree requirements.
