Resolution on Firearms

The Kress Foundation Department of Art History endorses the resolutions of the University of Kansas Faculty Senate and University Senate in opposition to allowing concealed firearms on KU campuses.

We also endorse the position taken by our national professional organization, the College Art Association, and twenty-eight other scholarly societies, that laws permitting the carrying of concealed firearms on campuses threaten freedom of expression and “introduce serious safety threats on college campuses with a resulting harmful effect on students and professors.”
