Graduate Program

Students in a seminar class

Welcome to the landing page for our graduate program. Our students take a wide range of courses, exploring visual and material cultures of Europe, the Americas, and East Asia while engaging in discussion of methodological and theoretical models. Alumni of our graduate programs enjoy careers in academe, museums, administration, and a wide array of related fields.

Students may pursue graduate degrees in European and American Art/Global Modern and Contemporary Art or East Asian Art. Those who are interested in graduate degrees that emphasize international and/or transnational modern and contemporary art should follow the European and American/Global Modern and Contemporary track.

You will find here and in the links below practical details about our MA, Accelerated MA, MA/PhD, and PhD programs. Please consult the Graduate Student Handbook (below) for more information regarding the programs, degree requirements, policies, and procedures. We hope that you will explore the rest of our website to find out more about our department, the faculty, current graduate students, and course offerings.
