Seminar: Site-specific Art in Japan, Korea, and China

In this seminar, students will examine methods of approaching the analysis of site-specific art, emphasizing environmental constraints, patrons’ demands, and belief systems regarding landscape, space, and directions, such as fengshui and cosmic alignment. In addition to reading and discussing case studies from Japan, Korea, and China, students will choose a site-specific work of art for their research project. No CJK language required; EAGC students are welcome.
