Biography —
Dr. Sarah Dyer Magleby received her PhD from the University of Kansas in Late Medieval and Northern Renaissance Art. Her research focuses on gender studies, material and visual culture, and inventories as a means of rematerializing past collections. With support from the Jeanne Marandon Fellowship, she conducted dissertation research at the Institut national d’histoire de l’art in Paris, culminating in her project “The Turquam-Gilles Inventory: Reconstructing an Estate and Familial Status in Paris, c. 1500” (2024). Her research has additionally been supported by several institutions and fellowships, including the Renaissance Society of America, the Medieval Academy of America, the Newberry Library, the International Congress on Medieval Studies, the University of Kansas, and the Spencer Museum of Art. Upcoming 2026 peer-reviewed publications include articles in the edited volume Owning Gothic Ivories: Buying, Giving, Circulating and the Journal of the Early Book Society.
