An overview of the artist’s career. Examine subjects that Rembrandt repeatedly depicted and analyze conceptual themes that cut across various subjects. Explore recent scholarship on Rembrandt’s artwork to understand issues raised by the imagery’s interpretation.
HA 395 and HA 595 are courses designed for the study of special topics in Baroque art, including courses taken through study abroad. May be repeated for credit if content varies. Same topic may not be taken at both the 300 and 500-levels.
