Biography

Cillian Sager is an MA student interested in Sino-Vietnamese cultural exchange in the Later Lê/Ming dynasties as well as Chinese and Vietnamese Art History after the 20th century. Cillian researches the ways that post-colonial countries rebuild a sense of national identity through fashion, painting, and popular arts. Along with this, she examines how colonised peoples express autonomy during and after colonial-rule by adapting and evolving colonial influences to meld with preexisting cultures.
