Biography

Shangyi Lyu is a MA/PhD student in the East Asian art history program at the University of Kansas. Her interests include early modern Chinese material culture, ink painting and calligraphy, and garden design, as well as Chinese collecting history in the 18th century. Her article, “Private Secretary as Collector in the Late Qing Period: The Case of Shen Wu” is published in Newsletter for International China Studies 国际汉学研究通讯 (2022). Before coming to KU, Lyu got her BA degree in Visual Communication Design and MA degree in Art History from Zhejiang University.
