Biography

Zhu Ying is a Ph.D. student in the East Asian art history program at the University of Kansas. Before she came to KU, Zhu got her MA and BA degrees from East China Normal University. She worked in the Suzhou Museum (Suzhou, Jiangsu Province, China) as a Director of Education, which gave her a solid background in Chinese art and museum education.

Ying's major area of study is Ming-dynasty painting. Her paper "From Productive Property to Celebrated Garden: Archaic Allusions in Shen Zhou's Eastern Estate Album," which she delivered at the 2019 Midwest Conference on Asian Affairs, showcases her skills in art history and cultural studies.
